Pictures:
Fort Cornwallis was built 1786-1810.
The whole place is set up as though they want you to see it as it really was. So there are people in costume as well as mocked up scenes in viewing galleries.

You can also pose with Sir Francis Light.

We'd rather pose with the textures of the old chapel.

One of the viewing galleries. George is pointing out some "authentic prisoners" inside.

So that you can get an idea of any possible scenario, here is how a black or white man would look, imprisoned in a Fort Cornwallis cell:

You can see the clock tower in town just outside of the fort's walls.

We were on our toes thanks to all of these notices all over the grounds:

Anyone but me notice anything odd about these "wild" horse (other than the fact that you can see their ribs.)

George is upset about the treatment of the horses.

In a land were most of the oral communication is done in English, there exists many a sign like this one. See how many errors you can spot in the English translation!

The 'gunpower magazine' is one of the original 1786 structures.

Checking out the competition?

We saw a beautiful caged bird there.

It could speak and its voice sounded like an old tape recording. It was such an uncanny feeling listening to him speak and it made me think of those birds that make the sounds of deforestation.

Still can't figure this out, but below is the first of two instances on Saturday when I am asked to take photos of a stranger, with my camera!
