Day 47
Today is not as good, hypoglycemia-wise. But it's good to have George around to help. We try to win the glucose battle, but it's another tough one today.
WEDNESDAY
In the afternoon, Shanti comes again. It's smoother this time. It feels good to have someone come clean. The main room has such a huge floor, I have yet to be able to clean it one session. And even when I do a half or a third at a time, I'm a ball of sweat at the end. It does take her a while, but she leaves our floor shiny every time she comes, and it totally lifts your spirits to have a sparkling floor. So now, I can relax a little, and get some other things done. I take the time to look up recipes I can try for my diet.
In the evening we go to the furniture store that's having a sale to make a final decision on a side chair, a couple of dining chairs, and love seat. The girl is so sweet. She's great with Regin and chases him around the store while we talk. This is the second time we've been there and the second time we've been right at closing. She tells us we have another day for the sale and to decide. We take it. We tell her we'll try to get there before closing tomorrow. We'd hoped to make another trip to IKEA tomorrow. George has the rest of the week off. But once again, we're just not ready.
THURSDAY
Another tough hypo day. We spend the morning/afternoon trying to prepare for our IKEA trip, making shopping lists, planning budgets, and doing laundry. In the evening, we have dinner, while cleaning up I ask, "What time does that store close and what time is it now?"
"Shoot!"
We rush out the door and drive down the street. We're on the same street as the mall. It is such a short distance. But it's bumper to bumper cruising traffic. We're about a block or two away, and five minutes from closing, when I'm screeching, "Babe! Babe! BABE!!!" George rear-ends a guy. What a mess! I immediately hop out of the car, leave George to handle the details of the crash with the other guy, and run all the way to/through the mall to the store. I'm panting heavily and there is sweat trickling down inside my shirt as I approach Vanessa, our girl. She smiles casually. No rush; she's ringing up other customers. I place my order for the chairs. She misspoke on the price yesterday so I order two instead of four. We buy a side chair in another store and this one we get to take home right away! Isn't it pretty? It's our first piece of furniture here.
We were hoping to make our drive to KL first thing, but now George has to make a trip to the police station tomorrow!

That's a really nice chair!
The traffic is scaring me and I'm all the way across the ocean. That's 2 accidents in 2 months, sheesh!
Ya, I'd agree nice chair.
Thanks for the updates - looking forward to some more!

ooooooooooo! me likes!
hope they don't lock George up for dangerous driving!!
Make that 3 accidents. He got into another one this morning. Another day, another story.
I'd like to blame it on the horrible traffic here, but it's mostly George. The traffic here is a really bad influence on him.
But the traffic is really horrendous. And there aren't any real pedestrian crossings around where I live (not sure how many I've seen here in general) so you really risk your life every time you cross.
Man George! You need to take some driving lessons! I don't remember your driving being *that* bad when we were carpooling even though I wasn't fond of sitting in the front when you drove, lol.
