Got a new 'do on Sunday. I didn't know what I wanted, so I just asked for a big change and something very stylish. This is what I got:
(clothes just for fun)
Story will probably follow in the travel log.
Tried to get some better/closer shots today, but all I got were these:
I guess I should have waited a little longer post-hairdrying. That last one shows my hair the best, but the 'do ain't nearly that poofy. Another bummer: it's hard to believe, looking at these pictures, that I tried on (and made it into) a US size 4 this weekend! It's hard to believe mainly (I think) because my baby belly and my mom arms are still visible here. Ah well.

OMG, a size 4!!?! Sheesh. I bet you're loving the new size. I'll never be a size 4, but I know that when I was a 6/8 it was fun to shop because most clothes fit pretty well.
You look really good Elisabeth. I hope you are *feeling* good. I know that the hypoglycemia has been taking a toll on you.
Oh yeah, your haircut is so cute and chic!
Thank you!
I knew size 4 would get some attention! Can you believe it? I am definitely not a size 4 though. It was an oversize top I think. But it was WAAAAY cool when they didn't have the size I was looking for (which I thought was going to be on the small side) and when I suggested going up, the girl was like, "oh I think that will be way too big for you, I think you should try going down a size" which ended up supposedly being a US 4. I was beaming when I walked out of the store.
The same day I was at Forever 21 and had serious, serious muffin top in some size 9 pants. But you know, they are cut for teenage girls with boyish shapes.
I was pretty bloated when I took these photos (got on a bacon kick when I found some actual PORK bacon with NO sugar in it), but I think I'm probably a 6/8. (Probably a solid 6 if not for the milk boobs, baby belly and mom arms) That's still on the large side here.
The thing is, seeing the local shapes every day has affected my interpretation of size. I still see ample when I look in the mirror, but I can pretty much do one of those huge-clothes weight loss ads with some of the clothes I brought with me here, so that tells me something. (Though I'm not QUITE able to fit my whole self into one of my old pant legs yet)
As for the hypoglycemia, some days are better, though some days are not. I am happy to say that it's rare for me to have crisis days anymore. Most days are filled with off and on mild crashes, and I'm moody a lot, but every once in a while I get a crash-free day and I'm so happy I would do cartwheels if I knew how. The weight loss tells me I'm doing reasonably well though. Overproduction of insulin causes you to store more fat. I really believe a lot of the stuff I've read about most people having some degree of hypoglycemia, and to me, the fact that a no bread/potato diet works for so many people is proof. I keep telling people that everyone should be on the hypoglycemia diet (though not necessarily as strict as mine) but people don't like to hear it. I think George gets really moody after he's had something refined or caffeinated, but hearing about it doesn't make his mood any better.
By the way, he's lost a bunch of weight too. But his is because he's started using stairs only at home & work every day. Today we're realizing that the sling I sewed for him is too big now! That's the thing about those non-adjustable pouch slings!
