Penang -- Week 16 -- Just call him Flipper

TUESDAY - WEDNESDAY, July 1st & 2nd
Carmen and family are back from their trip home and she invites me and Regin over for a little pool time with other moms and kids.  We get there pretty late (after nap time) so everyone is pretty much leaving by that time, and Carmen is dying to get out of the heat by now, but R and I have a blast by ourselves in Carmen's pool.  There is a large shallow area that Regin is free to walk around in and play.  I'm constantly standing guard between him and the rest of the pool, and leaping to his rescue every time he loses his balance and does a face plant in the water.  Wow my boy loves the water!  I have a hard time ripping him out of the pool, but I have to, or we'll both be (soggy) burnt toast.  Carmen and I hang a little and chat, but it's always challenging chatting at someone else's house with R around.  I have to follow him and take everything out of his hands and put it back.  Still, it's nice to spend some time with Carmen.
There is another issue with the sofa again. So, it's still gone and we haven't heard anything about when it'll be coming back.  George calls, and at first they seem surprised that we don't have it.  Then they say it's in KL and it hasn't been worked on.  George loses it.  This is unacceptable.  It's been a couple of months since we bought the stupid thing and we STILL have never had a usable sofa!  We get all sorts of promises and someone (some manager from a store in another city) who is actually good with customer service is taking care of "Mr. George" now.  I'm not sure what transpired, but all I can hear while George is on the phone is a woman's voice saying "Sorry Mr. George"  a lot, and finally George calms down.
Random pictures from July 1st - 2nd:
Eggs and Papaya (= "Appuh"  and "paya" in Regin) make for a messy meal  I can never resist shooting photos of a food-covered face like that!  Here he rests his head, as he often does when he's sleepy, and says, "nigh! nigh!"
Here you can see five of his eight teeth.  What a smile, huh?
More eating "paya"...
