Are you on Geni yet?

With a world of networking websites out there to play with do we really need another one? There is the infamous MySpace, which I've tried to give a chance, but still hate, there's LinkedIn for business networking which I am not interested in. And trying to compete with MySpace there is also Hi5 and Facebook among many, many, MANY others. My favorite of the pack so far (by far) is Facebook, and if you're not on there yet, GET THERE, then send me an invite to be your Facebook friend!

I get invitations regularly from friends asking me to join more networking sites. No thank you! But! I have to tell you that if you're interested in family networking, cooperative family geneology and record/photo keeping, Geni is the coolest thing around. Funny thing is that I had the idea for almost this same exact site about three months ago, before I found out about Geni. I told George we were going to create this website. When I first started Geni, they didn't have some of the features I'd had in mind, but now they pretty much have it covered and gave some other cool features I've never even thought of! My biggest issues are that it's kind of hard to look at the family tree because of the limitations of the average computer screen, and that they send you notifications when cousins of cousins of cousins of cousins of your step sister-in-law are added to "your family tree." Good news is, preferences can be set so you don't have to receive those notifications.

Anyway, we've been doing a little family photo archiving here. And I put this photo up on Geni for the family to see:

My first Christmas! Here with my sisters, JoAnn and Katrin. I was less than a week old.
