10mph Premier in Denver, Regin is, Solids, Old Friends New Friends

10mph Showing in Denver!

For those of you who have been wanting to see this movie but haven't had the chance yet, 10mph, the movie I worked on, is premiering in Denver tonight. They're showing it at the Tivoli in downtown tonight through Sunday. We're going to try and make it tonight if not one of the other times. See you there!

BTW this is part of a theatrical tour that's going on this summer. Apparently the Boise screening already happened. Sorry Katrin! Check the website for more cities and dates.

Regin Is

It's difficult to remember to write down all the firsts and everything that you want to remember about what your baby is doing, so I have begun playing a little game in my journal called "Regin Is." I write those words at the top of the page, and then underneath I write all the things he's doing (developmentally, etc..) and what I want to remember about him right now. So let's play...

Regin Is...
  • 4 months old.
  • 14.5 lbs
  • Rolling over on his tummy unassisted.
  • Still pooping in the potty (over a month now).
  • Eating his first solids -- Rice cereal.
  • Saying "mamamamama" and often even "Mamma" though I realize he probably doesn't understand the meaning of the word. However, he does say it more when he's upset, so....
  • Playing lots with his Baby Einstein activity center.
  • Loving his stuffed monkey toy.
  • Putting absolutely everything in his mouth. (He grabs and eagerly shoves everything towards his face.)
  • Teething. (drooling everywhere)
  • Described by people who meet him as: beautiful, sweet, cute, BIG, very well-behaved (as if he knows how yet!), quiet, serious, flirtatious, smiling a lot.
  • Totally happy and smiling all day if we're around other people, but if it's just Mamma & Regin, or often even Mamma, Papi & Regin, then it's fuss central, all day.
  • Oddly enough, not entertained by watching Mamma fiddle on the computer.

The Crazy World of Solids!

Regin ate his first solids about a week ago! Here are a few pics...

We have video too, but I'll post that later.

Connecting With Friends, Both Old & New

So over the weekend, I was really excited to have the opportunity to see my friend from high school, Gavin, who I haven't seen since 94! We went to dinner on Saturday and then we attended the baby shower of another friend of ours, Kiko, who we also know from high school. The three of us went to high school in Lakenheath, in the UK.

Kiko & Abby are expecting their first baby in September.

Then on Tuesday, I finally met Monica's good friend Kim, who Monica has been telling me about forever now.
Me & Kim.

If we look terrible, it's because this was taken after some drinking, after her purse was stolen & then recovered, after our salsa class. Busy night!

So another way I'm getting connected with new & old friends is with
Facebook. Facebook is what MySpace wishes it was. It's so great! I am suddenly connected with friends from like 15-20 years ago. I'm so hooked! If you're on facebook, add me as a friend!

I will probably consider using
Facebook
to host my photos. It allows people to view your photos without opening an account, has a really good & easy to use interface for the photo uploading and everything, the upload is quick, and I believe you can order prints from there. Plus I can tag each photo with the name of other Facebook users, which is kind of fun.
